World Series Aerial (1935)
World Series Aerial (1935): A huge crowd of nearly 50,000 sit in the temporary outfield stands in this aerial view of the North Sider's 1935 World Series game against the Detroit Tigers. A little more than two years later these temporary stands would be replaced by a permanent concrete structure as well as a new scoreboard. It was a great year in 1935, remembered for the 100 wins (which they did not do again until 2016), a 21-game-winning streak (not including ties, still a major league record), the club's 14th National League pennant — and, unfortunately, a World Series loss to the Detroit Tigers four games to two.
