Opening Day (1935)
Opening Day (1935): A huge crowd fills Wrigley Field on opening day in 1935. What a difference would be seen a short three years later, with the opening of the new scoreboard in centerfield and the replacement of the old wooden bleachers. The North Siders' 1935 season is remembered for the 100 wins (it took until 2016 to do that again), a 21-game-winning streak (not including ties, still a major league record), the club's 14th National League pennant — and, unfortunately, a World Series loss to the Detroit Tigers.
